Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Summary
The Maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of Camphill Soltane’s campus and rental properties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility
Does this position require supervision responsibilities? No.
Essential Functions
Core Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance of existing buildings, equipment, and grounds such as painting, caulking, water and HVAC filter changes, etc.
Perform corrective repairs to alleviate unsatisfactory conditions found during preventive maintenance such as drywall and siding repairs, pipe and plumbing fixture leak repairs, lighting and electrical repairs, etc.
Perform alterations and improvements on existing buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and costs associated with each project
Accepts and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Camphill Soltane.
Strong problem solving skills, proactive in identifying and reporting current and foreseeable property issues.
Ability to multi-task and exhibit excellent organizational skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and flexibility to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
Capable of general maintenance tasks, including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Ability to operate equipment and machinery safely, including trucks, riding mowers, snowplows, & pressure washers.
Must be willing to occasionally be on-call to solve urgent issues pertaining to Camphill Soltane properties that may arise. This may include being available during weekends and non-business hours.
Maintains professional and positive relationships with participants, colleagues, and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting as required.
Physical & Intellectual Demands
Intellectual Demands: problem solving, communication (written and verbal), organization,calculating, and concentration.
Physical Demands: Position requires constant movement, including bending, crouching, and kneeling. Ability to ascend/descend ladders and work at heights. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions
This position requires regular exposure to all weather conditions throughout the year, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Outdoor tasks are scheduled in accordance with weather conditions when possible; however, essential maintenance needs may require work in inclement weather.
Work Environment: campus has a mixture of residential and office buildings with work inside and outside during the year.
Performance Reviews
90 Day Performance Review will be conducted
Yearly Reviews will then be conducted on an annual basis
