About Camphill Soltane
The Mission
Camphill Soltane provides an inclusive setting for achieving creative development, social engagement, & meaningful employment for adults with intellectual differences and the broader community so that all may find fulfillment.
The Message
For nearly 40 years, Camphill Soltane has been committed to helping adults with intellectual differences write the next chapter of their story after high school. We believe that graduation shouldn't be the end of opportunity so when many families are left asking, "What's next?" we provide a clear path forward. Recognizing the limited opportunities, support, & learning gaps after high school ends, Camphill Soltane creates meaningful pathways for continued growth through creative courses, career exploration, meaningful employment, and social connection in Soltane Arts, Soltane Cafe, Soltane Horticulture, & Soltane Hospitality. As a proud member of the Camphill Association of North America, our goal is to cultivate an inclusive community where each person can discover their potential and build a purpose-driven life.
Organizational History
Camphill Soltane was founded in 1988 to provide a college-like transition into adulthood for young adults with intellectual and developmental differences. When state and federal regulations shifted away from community living models, Camphill Soltane adapted from a full-time residential model to a dynamic community-based model that offers a wide range of living, learning, working, volunteering, and vocational opportunities open to all.
Pathways of Opportunity
Meaningful Employment | Creative Development | Social Engagement | Career Exploration
These pathways enable a person to unlock their potential, advocate for themselves, develop creative skills, encourage a healthy mind and body, explore their passions, and kickstart career ambitions. These pathways may be entered into at any point filling a person’s day, and their life, with purpose, belonging, and joy.

The Why
When high school ends, adults with intellectual differences face endless lifelong barriers to accessible educational opportunities, fulfilling employment, creative development, & rich social inclusion. We believe that true inclusion does not divide based on a diagnosis, & a truly inclusive community is one that integrates those who identify as having a disability alongside those who do not. Therefore, Camphill Soltane advocates for creating an integrated environment for all people.
