Susan and Tony

"The story of Camphill showed an historical movement that has successfully created a beautiful model for community living with the disabled population. It was thrilling and hopeful to learn that an organization existed that understands the needs, creative spirit and soul of special needs individuals."

- Susan Williams, parent of former student Tony B.

Wine and Fine Dining

We are pleased to announce the Honorary Chair of our 2015 Wine and Fine Dining will be David Jeffrey of Calluna Vineyards in Sonoma. World-renowned wine auctioneer Ursula Hermacinski will take the podium for the first time at our event. Save the date and make plans to join us for this exciting evening on April 18, 2015!

Sue-Marie and Ron Haber

Last year's Wine and Fine Dining was another successful event for Camphill Soltane. Our Honorary Chairs, Sue-Marie and Ron Haber of Haber Family Vineyards in Napa (left), charmed our attendees with their engaging and personable style (not to mention their outstanding 2010 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon!)

Guests enjoyed Gordon Weldon's Grand Oyster Bar, followed by butlered hors d'oeuvres and a gourmet meal prepared by Chefs Charlie and Barbara Orlando, and Ricky and Janet Orlando, of the Yellow Springs Inn.

The introductory program featured remarks by Betsy Ney, a founding member of Camphill Soltane, who reflected on her life from 25 years ago to today.

Colleen BuckleyColleen Buckley (right), widow of auctioneer David Reynolds, offered thoughts of thanks and remembrance for David's long involvement with Camphill Soltane.

Our "fund a need" appeal for wireless internet was made by parent Mary Pellack, who described how she relies on Skype to communicate with her daughter Emily, who is non-verbal.

Auctioneer Ed Gold, who joined us for the first time this year, had big shoes to fill and stepped up to the challenge admirably.

Proceeds from this event support vital programming at Camphill Soltane, including our 5-year Learning for Life program, which provides the best elements of a college experience to young adults with developmental disabilities, and our Soltane Works program, which provides meaningful work opportunities in sustainable, organic gardening operations, textile design, and baking and food production, among others.

Thanks to everyone involved for making this an evening to remember!
